Growing up with thick, coily hair in a world that valued straight hair was a constant battle. Every salon visit ended in tears—stylists who didn't understand shrinkage, who reached for the flat iron before the diffuser, who called my hair "difficult."
I spent years learning to manage my own hair, then started helping friends. That living room operation in 2018 became Kofa—a salon where no one has to explain why they don't want their curls brushed out.
After training at Vidal Sassoon Academy London and specialising in textured hair techniques across Europe and Africa, I returned to India to create the salon I wish I'd had growing up.
